They are experienced, active on the IT market in Białystok, and they are eager to share their knowledge with others. They are founding an association to integrate the technological community and are inviting enterprises from the Podlaskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeships to join them. Who are we talking about? Five local managers who wish to integrate Northeastern Poland technologically.
Concept of the IT cluster
The founders of this initiative invite all companies related to the IT industry with headquarters in the Podlaskie or Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship to join the cluster.
– We wish to act together in order to integrate the entire IT community in our region. One of the goals of the IT Cluster is for many small IT enterprises to cooperate with one another instead of competing for customers and employees, and within the Cluster, these enterprises can mutually support their development by, for example, exchanging employees for projects when one company needs an employee and another company does not have enough projects for all of its staff to work on.
– With such a formula, the enterprises associated within the IT Cluster will have a greater chance of maintaining their presence on the market than enterprises from outside the association – says Robert Strzelecki, Vice President of the TenderHut capital group and one of the cluster's originators.
The cluster is to be a local platform for dialogue on multiple levels – a place to discuss initiatives, innovations and start-ups. Ultimately the Cluster is to become the "face of IT' in the region for foreign entities interested in employing IT services.
– We care about the IT industry in our region. It is our wish that students will no longer have to go abroad to find work but rather be able to work and develop freely in the country. We want experienced specialists to be able to return to their home city because there are interesting projects waiting for them in Białystok and Olsztyn – adds Robert Matyszewski, Vice President of SoftwareHut.
Together we can do more
The initiators see great potential for the development of the IT industry in the Podlaskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeships. Many IT groups are being created in this region, and their members are meeting and exchanging opinions about the industry.
– Several social groups linked to technology and programming languages are already very active in Białystok and organise periodical meetings. These groups include the Białystok .NET Group, meet.js Białystok, Mobile Białystok, Agilestok, and the BiałQA group, which is an association of the tester community, among others. I think that gathering these activists under a single, formal initiative may do much good in our region. Because, according to the popular aphorism, we can do more together – explains Mateusz Andrzejewski, Technical Director at SoftwareHut.
The Cluster's originators
The idea to found the Cluster is a grassroots social initiative authored by Robert Strzelecki, Robert Matyszewski, Mateusz Andrzejewski, Karol Przybyszewski and Maciej Aniserowicz.
They are currently working in the Tenderhut capital group and have declared that its resources will be available in the cluster's initial phase of activity. They have made the assurance, however, that all of the cluster's members will have equal rights.
